Would you like to eat ImaginOn? Now you can!

For the second annual Community School of the Arts Gingerbread House Competition, local marketing leader Wray Ward decided to create an edible ImaginOn! You can vote for ImaginOn or other gingerbread creations at their website,  Wray Ward shared with us why they chose ImaginOn:

Recyclestein and Frankenstein!

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library has selected Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (and This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel, The Fourteenth Goldfish by Jennifer Holm, and Frankencrayon by Michael Hall, as the young reader companion reads) for it's 2016 Community Read title.  On Saturday, October 15th, ImaginOn invites patrons to bring the story to life with two fun activities:  Recyclestein and a live reading of Frankenstein.

Frog and Toad Visit Spangler Storytime

If you had visited the Spangler Library Family Storytime on Saturday, October 8, 2016, you would have gotten a special treat! The actors from Children's Theatre of Charlotte's current production, A Year With Frog and Toad, popped in as special guests to read the Frog and Toad story "Seeds" to over 100 toddlers, preschoolers, and family members. Other Children's Theatre actors will be stopping into our storytimes in the upcoming months as their shows launch, so mark your calendars now!
Teen mothers and their children participate in storytime

ImaginOn Hosts a Safe Journey Program

On Thursday, August 18, 2016, ImaginOn hosted a special morning program for a group of teen mothers and their children (ages 0-3) from Safe Journey and Adolescent Parenting Program (APP). The Teen Loft Manager presented the mothers with available opportunities for programming and materials, and then two staff members from Spangler Library conducted a color-themed family storytime with songs and flannels and scarves, followed by an interactive Every Child Ready to Read presentation that featured the early literacy practices of reading, talking, singing, writing, and playing.
Super Saturdays at ImaginOn

Super Saturdays are back!

Last year, as a part of ImaginOn's 10th Anniversary, we had Super Saturdays all year long to celebrate. Well, they are back!  The second Saturday of every month we will have a featured performer or event to provide Family Friendly programming, all for FREE!     Events will typically take place between 1pm and 2:30pm in the Story Lab area of ImaginOn and no tickets are needed!  Check out our Event Calendar for updated information but take a peek at who is coming to ImaginOn…
