Children’s Theatre of Charlotte

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is one of the nation’s top theatres for families, serving nearly 300,000 people each year with imaginative productions and wide-ranging education offerings for all ages.

Tickets and registration for Children’s Theatre productions and education programs are available at the Customer Sales and Service Center at ImaginOn, Monday – Friday 10 am – 5 pm, 1 hour before weekend and evening performances and through the website at ctcharlotte.org.

Programs include:

  • Award-winning, professional adult productions in the 570-seat McColl Family Theatre and 250-seat Wells Fargo Playhouse. Children’s Theatre’s season includes classic productions, innovative theatre, challenging work and inspirational performances for all ages.
  • Education programs, including Creative Drama Classes, Theatre Workshops and Summer Camps, in ImaginOn’s studio classrooms and at satellite locations throughout the county.
  • A Resident Touring Company -- one of the most respected and sought after arts groups in the country -- that visits schools throughout North Carolina and the Southeast, programs in every grade of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and a Community Involvement Program that encourages participation among non-traditional audiences in the region.

The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte offers classes for all ages, from preschoolers through high school students. Classes are taught by professional theatre artists with extensive experience as instructors, performers, directors and playwrights – and always, the ability to inspire and motivate young people.

Book-lovers of all ages are invited to EpicFest, Nov. 3

EpicFest is an extraordinary, free literary festival that joyfully connects children, teens and families with books and the people who write them through activities that encourage a love of reading and learning. In its fourth year, EpicFest has become a wonderful family tradition.

Nationally-recognized children’s and young adult authors and illustrators will spend two days in Charlotte to share their latest books, their experiences and their passion for libraries with kids of all ages.

Super Saturdays 2018-2019

Starting in October- Join us on the second Saturday of every month for our Super Saturdays at ImaginOn.  We will have a featured performer or event to provide Family Friendly programming, all for FREE!     Events will typically take place between 1pm and 2:30pm in the Story Lab area of ImaginOn and no tickets are needed!  Check out our Event Calendar for updated information.
