Meet two-time Newbery Medalist Kate DiCamillo at ImaginOn – Jan. 13

This event is sold out.

Families and lovers of children’s literature won’t want to miss seeing Kate DiCamillo, the award-winning author of many books for young readers, as she visits Charlotte during the tour of her latest novel, Louisiana’s Way Home

This ticketed event will take place on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. at ImaginOn.

While fans often ask best-selling author Kate DiCamillo to write more about their favorite characters, she has never been compelled to revisit the world of a previous novel – until now. DiCamillo returns to unravel the story of Raymie’s friend and beloved ranchero Louisiana Elefante. In its 2016 review of Raymie Nightingale, the New York Times noted that Louisiana “is one of DiCamillo’s most singular and arresting creations” and that she “delights on every page.” Fans of Louisiana can now look forward to reading Louisiana’s Way Home

DiCamillo’s books’ themes of hope and belief amid impossible circumstances and their messages of shared humanity and connectedness have resonated with readers of all ages around the world.

Her books have been awarded the Newbery Medal (The Tale of Despereaux), the Newbery Honor (Because of Winn-Dixie), the Boston Globe Horn Book Award (The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane) and the Theodor Geisel Medal and honor (Bink and Gollie, with co-author Alison McGhee and Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride).

During her visit to ImaginOn, DiCamillo will read aloud from her newest novel, Louisiana’s Way Home, answer questions and sign copies of her books. Her books will be available for purchase on site the day of the event, courtesy of Park Road Books.

Tickets are available for purchase for $5 each through the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte box office. Click the button below or call 704-973-2828 to purchase your tickets today. If the cost of this event is prohibitive, please call 704-973-2828, and we will try to make accommodations.
