Imagi-CON: a fandom mini-con for teens on July 22

Imagi-CON

Join us on Saturday, July 22 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. at ImaginOn for our second annual Imagi-CON, a comic book, graphic novel, manga, and anime event for ages 0 to 18.

Through this event, we aim to celebrate and explore the comic and graphic novel literary genre by providing opportunity to those in our community to learn about the comics and graphic novel industry, meet local artists, and inspire creativity.

Experience a variety of activities, including:

  • Workshops. Comic Art, Cosplay Costume Design, and other workshops will be offered throughout the day, featuring local artists and presenters.
  • Tables. Browse artist tables and displays from local authors, artists, comic retailers, and other organizations.
  • Video Game/ Board Game Area. Participate in video and board gaming, including Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, Tabletop, RPG, Card, etc.
  • Cosplay Contest and Parade. Make a costume and participate in the Cosplay Contest and Parade. Check out the rules and register today!
  • Children’s Activities.  Superhero Storytime, Superhero Story Explorers, Extension Activities, and more will be offered throughout the day.

For more information, call the ImaginOn Teen Loft at 704-416-4660.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is where many young people in the Charlotte community are first introduced to this genre through the graphic novel and manga collections at every one of our branches.  Imagi-CON aims to recognize and celebrate this interest, and grow the audience for the genre.

We hope to see you at Imagi-CON!
