In September the Loft is all about identity and self-expression! If you’re between the ages of 12 and 18, drop by the Loft @ ImaginOn any time during the month to share a little piece of yourself with other local teens:
Six Word Memoirs
Craft and share your six-word memoir. You’ll have an opportunity to post your memoir throughout the Loft all month long. Need some help coming up with your six-word memoir, check out Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six Word Memoirs or ask a Loft Staff Member for help. Here are some of our favorites from the book:
“Mixed blood. I am America’s future.” –Holly Santiago
“I colored outside the lines.” –Jacob Thomas
“Asked to quiet down. Spoke louder.” – Wendy Lee
Share Your Secret!
Have you heard of Post Secret? It’s an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard. We’ll be collecting your secret postcards all month in the Loft, so drop by and pick up your blank postcard today. We’ll post all anonymous cards on the bulletin board in the Loft and at the end of the month, we’ll mail all postcards to PostSecret. Find out more about PostSecret.

This year, 1176 children “caught the reading bug” and signed up in Spangler Library for our insect-themed summer reading program. Thousands more attended fun educational programs such as Buggy Science, the Alberti Flea Circus, Comics Camp, Puppets on Parade, and the Big Buggy Ball.
Many thanks to Charlotte Symphony Guild Musical Petting Zoo, Mecklenburg Beekeepers Association, Discovery Place, and Reedy Creek Nature Preserve for collaborating with us to make our summer a success! |

Our popular Saturday morning preschool program, Boogie-Woogie Books, will be changing times… Instead of 11am, this program will begin at 11:15am starting in September. The time is changing, but you can expect the same rollicking good fun as always!
Check the online calendar for details about this, and other great programs every day!
