Chalk it Up

Flags Across The Nation brings Chalk it Up for Freedom to ImaginOn on Monday, July 2, 10am - noon. Kids, parents, campers and counselors can express a celebration of freedom with chalk on the sidewalk in front of ImaginOn. Create drawings of the American flag, patriotic symbols or messages of your own. The Chalk it Up artwork will be photographed, used for exhibits and mailed to our troops as Art in a Box Exhibits.

Flags Across The Nation volunteers can provide educational experiences before and during the art activity. Topics range from teaching flag etiquette, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and the folding of the American Flag. For more information, visit Flags Across the Nation or call 704.654.8529.

Aloha to Fairytales

The "Once Upon A Time" exhibit is on its way to a children’s museum in Hawaii! The exhibit has been enjoyed at ImaginOn by nearly 175,000 visitors from near and far. Here are just a few of the comments in our guest book:

  • I spent my birthday here and loved it! (Jordan, age 4)
  • Even if I’m too old, I love it! (Jasmine, age 16)
  • This made me think of all the fairy tales I liked (Moriah, age 11)
  • It’s so cool I should live here!! (Muziah, age 9)
  • Makes me wish I was a child again (Joe, age 57)
We hope to book another traveling exhibition that will be just as much fun as "Once Upon A Time". Look for more information as the next school year progresses. And in the meantime, “StagePlay” will open at ImaginOn in late June, featuring a puppet theatre and two stages where kids can put on a show and discover the hidden mysteries of theatre magic.
